MOON MOVES 3/18 - 3/24

We begin the week with the Moon waxing in Leo, spending much of Monday void-of-course (not making any connections with other planets).

  • 3/18: Moon enters VIRGO

  • 3/19: Moon PrG (perigee, closest point to earth in orbit)

  • 3/20: Moon enters LIBRA

  • 3/20: Full Moon 0° LIBRA 09' (SuperMoon)

  • 3/22: Moon enters Scorpio

  • 3/24: Moon enters Sagittarius

Mars makes a power move in Taurus with this early morning trine to Pluto in Capricorn. This aspect will help you with any heavy lifting today. The waxing Moon in Virgo moves into a grand earth trine, stabilizing anything that feels wonky. Strength and courage are available, as is the energy to get sh*t done! Watch out for power struggles whenever Pluto is involved.

Retrograde Mercury in Pisces sextile to Saturn offers a moment of practical, pragmatic thinking. Think strategy meets intuition. For example, if you are feeling triggered, consider pausing and taking a few deep breaths. You are more likely to be in touch with your inner wisdom, which can help to soften any mental constructs that are making themselves known with the building pressure of the almost Full Moon.

Each time the Sun moves into a cardinal sign (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) it signifies the change of season. Today’s solar shift into Aries marks the Equinox - 24 hours of equal day and night. Aries season is the spark of light inherent in the seed of possibility. You are invited to pioneer a new way of being in the Aries part of your life/natal chart.

Libra is the most relational sign in the zodiac. Ruled by Venus, this cardinal air sign is concerned with balancing the scales and finding harmony. Once harmony is found, it can be difficult to make changes when this shift will disrupt the status quo. This often looks like bending over backwards in order to keep things just so.

Today’s Full Moon is at 0° Libra. Zero point. A fresh start. With the Sun and Chiron in Aries, wounds around not getting your needs met may loom large under the light of this Full Moon. If you find yourself acting out, or reacting to someone else’s acting out, the equinox energy can help bring you back to center.

The Moon will return for a second Full Moon at 29° Libra on 4/19. You have a whole month to observe the dynamics between self/other. Notice what happens when you start to feel needy. Do you push away, abandoning the relationship? Or do you push toward the other person’s needs, abandoning yourself? It’s time to find a new way forward.

Venus in Aquarius makes a spicy square to Mars in Taurus. Squares require readjustments which aren’t the easiest thing to do, especially when planets are in fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius). Agreeing to disagree might be the best possible scenario if an agreement isn’t possible. Venus’ sextile to Jupiter in Sagittarius is a boon, encouraging you to take the high road and disengage from overly heated situations.

FRIDAY 3/22:

This connection brings conscious awareness of the places where you carry wounds around your identity. For the next 9 years, the Sun will make it’s annual cazimi (exact conjunction) with Chiron in the sign of Aries, traveling through the entire sign and highlighting a certain area of your life that is in need of integration. This first in the series occurs at 1° Aries; plot these Sun/Chion cazimis in your natal chart and follow Chiron’s healing journey in your own life.

SUNDAY 3/24:

This second hook up between Mercury and Neptune in Pisces is a moment of review that might feel like a deja vu. Been there? Done that? Who can tell when you’re caught in Neptune’s net. This is definitely not a day for linear, logical communications. Explorations in myth, metaphor and mysticism will be well met. Feel your way through this one by diving deep within.

Mercury and Neptune were conjunct on 2/18 and will meet up again on 4/2.

*all days/times are pacific daylight time
